Biggest Lie Of The Century Songtext
I saw a note on a wall and it said
“I’m feeling lonely and I lost my mum today”
I thought my god, I gotta let this poor girl know
I’m thinking of her in this shitty time shitty show
And then my message sat in drafts for a week or two
I really wonder what the fuck is really wrong with you
You write the message, address it but you do nothing instead
If you don’t know me I am full to the brim with excuses
Like a cup of tea
“I’m feeling lonely and I lost my mum today”
I thought my god, I gotta let this poor girl know
I’m thinking of her in this shitty time shitty show
And then my message sat in drafts for a week or two
I really wonder what the fuck is really wrong with you
You write the message, address it but you do nothing instead
If you don’t know me I am full to the brim with excuses
Like a cup of tea
Scalding you leaving nothing but bruises
Right on cue waking up at 5am
Panicking I’ll never do it again
But it turned out to be the biggest lie of the century
I got a card in the post and it said:
“I really miss all of the time that we spent
I heard your songs and it reminded me it’s been a while
Hope all is well! Would love to chat if you’ve got the time?”
And knowing me, what do you think I did with that card?
Stuck it in the bottom of the junk drawer graveyard
Have good intentions
It’s worth a mention
But I do nothing instead
If you don’t know me I am full to the brim with excuses
Like a cup of tea
Scalding you leaving nothing but bruises
Right on cue waking up at 5am
Panicking I’ll never do it again But it turned out to be the biggest lie of the century
Right on cue waking up at 5am
Panicking I’ll never do it again
