Eyes To The Sky Songtext
Songtext powered by LyricFind
THIS IS NOT WHAT I STAND FOR
HOW COULD I ANYWAY BE SOMETHING MORE THAN JUST MYSELF
WE DON'T SHARE ANYTHING EXCEPT OUR HERITAGE
AND THAT IS NOT ENOUGH FOR ME
A strange coincidence
Now here we go again
A common sense about a predetermined lifestyle
Guess I can't find myself
HOW COULD I ANYWAY BE SOMETHING MORE THAN JUST MYSELF
WE DON'T SHARE ANYTHING EXCEPT OUR HERITAGE
AND THAT IS NOT ENOUGH FOR ME
A strange coincidence
Now here we go again
A common sense about a predetermined lifestyle
Guess I can't find myself
In what they call my native land
First person plural, now provide me with your fake smile
Values and traditions that have been made up for me
That I'm supposed now to identify with
I understand this culture affected me
And for some parts I am glad
But I dunno man, within a fictitious space
A word like "pride" just feels so out of place
This is not what I stand for
How could I anyway
Be something more than just myself
We don't share anything
Except our heritage
And that is not enough for me
This land is not my land
It's neither yours cause I can't see your name on it
We don't share anything, face it!
Dutta:
This is not what I stand for
How could I anyway
Be something more than just me
What makes you think
I would like to participate?
It's not like I did a damn thing
To help set this culture up
How can my home be some place
That I was born into by accident
Accidents happen
So I can't see any validity
My home is where my heart is
It's with the people I love
This is not what I stand for
How could I be anyway
Someone I did not choose myself
This is just random
Don't let a need for affiliation
Define your ethos
There's so much more to hold up high
It's all inside you!
First person plural, now provide me with your fake smile
Values and traditions that have been made up for me
That I'm supposed now to identify with
I understand this culture affected me

But I dunno man, within a fictitious space
