Pope Urban II spoke, obedient sheep agreed/ Their swords spilled blood, dripping hypocrisy/ Christ said to turn the other cheek, so they twisted their eyes away from the Islam dead/ I bet god was so ashamed/ Crusades against free thought, they killed off all non-christians in god's name/ spanish Missions accomplished -- purified, converted the world to one faith/ How can you fight when you don't know the truth?/ The world is wrong, and your church is right, it's always been that way/ From inquisition, to the american political stage/ You use the bible as justification to oppress women and gays and kill "heathens" throughout time/ Don't you think 2000 years is long enough for god to change her mind?/ How can you fight?/ Can't you leave our minds alone?/ Will religion ever learn from its bloody mistakes?/ They still fight holy wars/ I thought loving one another was the way into heaven's doors/ How can you fight?
