Biography for Soapbox Preachers:
A product of the disdain for the decline of society one man decided to make his voice heard through his love of music. Armed with guitars, a bass, some drums and his voice he sought to make himself heard. Soapbox Preachers came into being after Mike's band dissolved upon high school graduation and the members going their separate ways. Mike's first album "On the Inbetween" was released in 2005 as an independent study project and received varying reviews, but the reviews did nothing more than aid Mike's drive to make his next album much better than his first.
The result is the 2010 release of "They Call It Progress." Much happened in those 5 years between albums. Mike went to college, joined the college paper working his way from the top to the bottom, toured the nation with a theater group, lost his grandparents in a house fire, moved up to a higher position at his job, traveled to Boston, and finally got his girl.
"They Call It Progress" features a higher degree of musicianship and lyricism than "On the Inbetween." "They Call It Progress" draws more from Mike's life than its predecessor as well as drawing from society's ills. With raging guitars, pounding bass lines, fast paced drums, and a voice of the people, "They Call It Progress" shows the talent and promise of this emerging artist.
