the race has begun
who would be the first to float around the world

who will see it all
who will pass the rest by fall
will it end in a tragedy
will their sails become torn
by a range of a storm

why would you race around the world
ignoring places and people as you sail on by
set on a gold medal
some jewelry for your box
for that you'd risk your like among the rocks

you ignore the song of the whale
you tighten your sails
